I have a diamond!
Oh, what a delight!
What wonderful radiance
He's a brilliant white!
Hardly have I seen
So earnest a soul
Unaware of his brilliance
In a mine of coal.
His brilliance is heavenly
Almost too much to bare.
Perhaps that is why the coal rocks
Don't acknowledge him there.
But he is my diamond
In him I rejoice
And as he shines upon me
I find my true voice.
